Infrastructure Facilities

  • Land and Space for Expansion
  • The site of the Academy has a large land area providing ample space for expansion. It is due to be developed with all the necessary infrastructure facilities required for a fully fledged higher educational and research institution.

  • Building Complex
  • The SIBA building complex consists of the largest auditorium in the Kandy District, an administrative and classroom building complex, a beautiful shrine room, and well-appointed reception area, lobby, hostels, a canteen, and ample space for vehicle parking.

  • Library
  • The library, located in the ground floor of the new SIBA Building contains a modest collection of books required for the students, staff and researchers at SIBA. It expects to have a large collection of cataloged books pertinent to the SIBA curriculum. The current collection include books on Buddhism and Pali language various Tipitaka editions and translations in addition to English language, Sinhala language, Tamil language and other foreign language and audio-visual materials.

  • Computer Laboratory
  • SIBA has a well-organized Computer Laboratory with internet facility for the use of students and staff. Computer Lab is located in the second floor of the main building. Information Technology plays a vital role in supporting the educational and research programmes at SIBA.

  • Language Learning Facilities
  • SIBA is planning to provide modern facilities for the study of languages with the necessary audio-visual equipments.

  • Meditation Hall with Shrine Room
  • A large meditation area with a shrine room is available for instruction and practice in meditation including group meditations conducted by SIBA.

  • Student Common Room and Cafeteria
  • A well-furnished cafeteria is available for students to use their leisure in a commodious environment while enjoying the scenery around. It is located in close proximity to the SIBA main building.

  • Medical Centre
  • The students and the staff have access to minor medical requirements at the premises itself with the assistance of a visiting physician and a nurse.

  • Accommodation
  • SIBA is planned to be a residential campus. It has two hostel buildigns to accommodate over 100 students. In the first instance foreign students are provided with accommodation. The hostels contains single rooms and sharing rooms all of which are with attached bathrooms.

Shared rooms ( 04 persons) foreign students - Perperson - $35
Security deposit $150 (refunded at the termination of the academic programme subject to deducting the cost of damage, if any, caused to fittings and fixtures)

Single room for local student - Rs.6000/=
Shared rooms (04 persons) local student – per person - Rs.2000/=
Security deposit Rs.5000/= (refunded at the termination of the academic programme subject to deducting the cost of damage, if any, caused to fittings and fixtures)
